This development comes after a successful and lengthy negotiation process aimed at addressing the sudden fare increase, which has been a concern for many students.
As a responsive and proactive union, we recognize the strain that the rise in transportation costs has placed on students, especially in these challenging economic times affecting both the state and the nation. The union, understanding the frustrations caused by the inflated NAPEP fees, took swift action to ensure that students’ welfare remains a top priority.
We are happy to inform you that following intense discussions with the school management and the transport committee, a new fare structure has been agreed upon. The fare for NAPEP rides across all locations within the campus has been reduced to ₦150. This new rate takes into account the current economic situation, including the increased fuel prices.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the school management, the Transport Committee, and the Director of the Directorate of Students Services for their continuous support throughout the negotiation process. Their dedication ensured that the interests of the students were prioritized.
The Students Union Government, “Team Educator,” remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of all students and ensuring that transportation remains affordable for everyone. This victory is a testament to our unwavering dedication to the well-being of the student body, as well as maintaining the public image and reputation of Kwara State Polytechnic.
Thank you for your trust in us, and rest assured that we will continue to fight for your rights and welfare.
Stay safe and enjoy the reduced fares!
